Encased within the walls of this ancient memorial, built during the era of Sheikh Jamaluddin, lies the final resting place of two esteemed Yemeni scholars remembered for their profound piety and learning. The memorial is closely tied to the island's seafaring history and its fishing community. A local folk tale recounts how one of the two, Sayyid Kaleygefaanu, saved a Vaadhoo tax collector from the wrath of King Nasiruddin, when an entire boat was filled with live cowrie shells to meet the monarch's impossible demand.
